Our Voice Reflects our Values

College campuses are alive right now.

Students have been showing up and sharing their collective voices on college campuses for decades.

For me, in my world working with young people to support them as they step confidently into college life and their initial launch into the professional world – the recent activity on campuses is such a strong reminder of how important our “voice” is.

Yes, our collective voice holds power, and so do our individual, independent, and emerging voices.

Springtime is an open invitation for new growth, experimentation, self discovery, and clearing away the weeds and the clutter. A time to find and refine our own unique voices.

If this spring you find yourself:

  • Getting ready for the transition into a first year at college?

  • Searching for a relevant career internship?

  • Drafting your first professional resume?

  • Preparing for interviews?

  • Or fully launching yourself into the working world of young professionals?

Here are few questions to consider:

  • What voice will you carry into these new experiences?

  • Is it strong?

  • Is it clear?

  • Does your voice reflect your values? Do you know or can you recognize your values?

  • Is your voice encouraging you to take a few risks and experiment?

Have some fun this spring playing with these evolving voices.

Try them on.

Toss them away.

Try on a different one.

Rinse and repeat.

Spring is an open invitation to just get out there and explore!
